Hi there
My name is Kali-Zahira I am the crazily over ambitious dancer nut who has decided to stop wishing I was anywhere but here and jump on a plane and do it.
A kitchen designer by day I have long dreamed of making dance my full time profession. Unfortunately in a country the size of New Zealand this is not as easy as it sounds.
Due to some pretty serious life changes, A break-up with my Fiancé which left me temporarily homeless and the current economic environment which leaves my day job of nearly five years as no longer a sure thing. I have decided that I am never again likely to have this few commitments. If I really want to do this dancing/travelling thing (hell year) then it’s now or never.
Ok so will travel then
Ummm where do I start??? I have always wanted to travel but except for a few definite i.e. Egypt =) it was such an abstract concept that I had no idea were to start. Add to that my many varied interests and I had a quandary. There are some specific things I want to see some teaches ive dreamed about for years but in other places I simply want to experience the culture and in others sightsee as a shameless tourist just to check these thing really are real (you never know they can do allsorts of thing in Hollywood these days)
Being such a dance nut I wanted to travel from place to place teaching learning and performing anywhere that would have me so I jumped on the belly dance forums WOW that didn’t exactly narrow my options. I am also a bit of an outdoor nut rock climbing, sailing skying whatever gets me out into the world. Eventually I ended up printing out a list of all the countries in the world and crossing off the ones I didn’t want to visit =) and then ordering them into legs with vague idea of the order and the mode of travel.
Check out the were page for rough itinery and add any ideas and must see places or invite me to come stay and show me your self.

Yes I promised myself an OE before I was 50. And now I’m gonna be doing it. Is there it better reason to travel if not the four letter word that dares not speak it name. And good will hunting it shall be as expected and as sure a thing as the surest thing. So it’s Scotland and at 43 you couldn’t pick a better time to go. The last time I travelled was when I was 19 leaving in Santa Ana,Caliafornia for two years quite the gun toting driveby experience as we see in those movie. But those days are long past. I already have plans to pursue my interests in Wing Chun, Muay Thai in Ayr and geek CCG gaming in Glasgow. But really it’s about writing my experience of a Samoan in Scotland culture clash flash meld and all that it brings and getting it published. so tuned to the UK bestsellers list cause I intend to write the ass of Irvine Welsh and perhaps even meet him. And all the while the girl and I shall be loving and living it up hard exchange vows and happy ever afters does not of even do justice to our neverending love story. If you don’t risk what is the point of it all. Happy trails KZ always welcome in Ayr, Scotland.
